Thousands of forest settlers and industries depending on forests may bear the biggest brunt in a plan to save the country's depleted tree cover.
Deputy President William Ruto said a plan is underway to deal with massive deforestation which had wiped out more than 500,000 acres of exotic and indigenous forests, degraded water catchment areas, leading to water rationing across the country.
