Ethiopia: Rex Tillerson Stops in Addis Ababa for Official Visit

US State Secretary Rex Tillerson arrived in Addis Ababa, yesterday for official state visit.

Ethiopia is his first stop in his scheduled visits to five African countries in his first stop to Continent since taking office.

The State Secretary was greeted by Ethiopia Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh Gebyehu and Ethiopian Ambassador to US Kassa Teklebirhan and other government officials at Bole International Airport .

On his stay ,Tillerson will confer with Ethiopian officials on issues of terrorism East African peace and security, and other key agnedas.

The Secretary of State will also meet with AU representatives to discuss on key Continental issues including the crisis in South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia.

Tillerson is also expected to pay visit to Djibouti, Chad, Nigeria and Kenya.

US Secretary's visit also coincided with the scheduled visit by his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
