Workers at Solwezi Lodge in North Western Province Wednesday morning stormed North Western Province Patriotic Front chairman Jackson Kungo to complain over management's non compliance with payroll.
The 51 workers complained that management had failed to generate a payroll that included them despite working for over five years.
"It is sad to note that Solwezi Lodge workers who are under the Ministey of Tourism have been working for more than 5 years without being put on the payroll," Kungo lamented.
Kungo said there is need for the Ministry of Tourism to consider putting it's workers on the payroll soonest in order for swiftly for them to deliver proper services.
He alleged that there are some people at the ministry of Tourism de-campaigning President Edgar Chagwa Lungu by denying people proper conditions of service.
Kungo warned that the party in North Western Province will not allow anyone to continue decampaining the ruling party and its leader.
He further took the opportunity to also address the problem faced by the Immigration Department in the Province.
"The Immigration Department has been renting premises at Napsa building sharing with other civillian entities which is not appropriate for such a sensitive security department," he said.
"We would like to call upon our able Government to find separate premises where the Immigration Department can be operating from considering the importance and sensitivity of the work they do."
