Sudan: Security Council to Analyze Situations in Darfur in June

Khartoum — Sudan UN Permanent Envoy, Ambassador , Omer Dahab said the first phase of gradual withdrawal of the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) forces will complete in next June.

He stated in an interview with SUNA, will be published later , that the UN Security Council would analyze the situations in Darfur in next June to decide beginning of the second phase of UNAMID exit strategy , considering the UN SC decision issued on 29 June , 2017 represented the line between the stage of conflict and stage of peace and that the Council acknowledged, for the first time, improvement of situations in Darfur and that Darfur has become safe except a " small pocket" at Jebel Marra areas.
