Namibia Competition Commission employees plan to sue their employer for not receiving their bonus this month.
The commission's chief executive officer Vitalis Ndalikokule told the employees in an internal memorandum on 16 March that they will not be getting their bonus cheques this month.
Sources say the commission has not paid their bonuses two times in a row, and that staff are not informed each time until it is time for the bonus to be paid out.
Ndalikokule said in the memo that the bonuses will not be paid with the March pay, and that this is because the board's committee meetings and an ordinary board meeting could not take place as scheduled.
"The board was not properly constituted as three of the board members' terms expired on 10 February.
The board is now properly constituted, but the meetings of the board and its committees will only take place after the March pay-run for a decision on the above issue," he said.
Other sources also said the commission was only stuck as the management cannot make a submission to a non-existing board.
