Maputo — Mozambique's publicly owned electricity company, EDM, and the Swedish embassy on Monday launched a “Project Preparation Programme”, under which Sweden will grant EDM 52.5 million Swedish crowns (about 6.4 million US dollars).
According to a report on the independent television station STV, the programme, which will run until 2021, will include studies on efficiency, capacity building and environmental impact assessments in the energy sector. Thus, it is hoped, will facilitate interaction with other potential funding agencies.
