Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire — The African Development Bank (AfDB) will host the third West Africa Forum for Climate and Clean Energy Financing (WAFCCEF-3) in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire on April 12, 2018. This Forum is organised by the Private Financing Advisory Network in partnership with the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE).
This Financing Forum provides the opportunity to meet inspiring West African entrepreneurs on the frontline of the low-carbon energy transition, network with regional and global clean energy experts and impact investors, and learn first-hand about exciting climate & clean energy investment opportunities in the ECOWAS region.
WAFCCEF-3, two years after WAFCEF2, will showcase some of the most promising clean energy investment opportunities in West Africa. The projects to be presented are all investment-ready and have been carefully selected for their commercial viability, growth potential, social and environmental benefits.
WAFCCEF-3 is primarily targeted at investors, including impact investors and financiers engaged in the clean energy and energy efficiency sectors in West Africa.

Launched in 2012, SEFA is a US$90-million multi-donor facility funded by the governments of Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United States and Italy. It supports the sustainable energy agenda in Africa through grants to facilitate the preparation of medium-scale renewable energy generation and energy efficiency projects; equity investments to bridge the financing gap for small- and medium-scale renewable energy generation projects; and support to the public sector to improve the enabling environment for private investments in sustainable energy. SEFA is hosted by the Renewable Energy Department of the AfDB.

The Private Financing Advisory Network (PFAN) is a multilateral, public-private partnership initiated by the Climate Technology Initiative (CTI) in cooperation with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change's Expert Group on Technology Transfer. PFAN is hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP).
