South Africa: Despatch SAPS Strengthen Community and Police Relations

The South African Police Service in Despatch conducted an integrated meeting today, 16 April 2018 with the community of Khayamnandi, Despatch in an attempt to strengthen the relationship and enhance the co-operation between the community and SAPS.

Various role players, such as SAPS, Community Police Forum, Counsellors and Community leaders formed part of the event. The purpose of the event was to create a platform where concerns could be raised that will ultimately result in the improvement of service delivery, awareness on crime concerns and the establishment of street patroller groups. SAPS gave their assurance and committed to render a quality service to the community they serve. The community in response gave their assurance to partake in a joint venture to assist the SAPS in the fight against crime.
