Kenya: City Stars Host Leaders Western Stima

The National Super League (NSL) enters round 14 on Thursday with five matches lined up across the country.

The clash-of-the-day sees former Kenyan Premier League (KPL) sides City Stars and Western Stima face-off at Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Stima head into the fixture sitting top of the 19-team standings with 30 points, six ahead of second-placed Bidco United.

The Richard Makumbi-coached side ended Kenya Police's 11-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 win on Saturday in Kisumu while Kawangware-based City Stars battled out to a one-all draw against Administration Police in their last outing.

City Stars, coached by former AFC Leopards defender John Amboko, are placed 11th on the table with 16 points from 12 matches.

Both teams have met 16 times while in the KPL with Stima winning six times, City Stars two while eight of the games have ended even.

Four games have been scheduled for Friday, with Talanta visiting Golden Field Evangelism.

GFE lost 2-0 to Nairobi Stima in their weekend outing in Naivasha while cash-strapped Talanta lost 5-0 to St. Joseph's Youth at Camp Toyoyo on Saturday.

"We've not been paid for the past two months, some of us have been locked out of our rented apartments yet the officials are doing nothing to salvage the situation," one of the players told Nation Sport.
