South Africa: Fugitive Brought to Book By Off-Duty Cop

Nelspruit — An escapee, 23 year old Thokozani Malinga, who was sought by police after escaping from lawful custody at the Ermelo Magistrate's Court, has been brought to book by an off-duty cop.

Malinga was nabbed this morning at around 09:00, by an off-duty police Constable who spotted and cornered him while leaving his hideout. Malinga escaped yesterday at about 16:00, after he was remanded in custody and scheduled to reappear again today. Whilst being escorted back to the holding cells, he reportedly fled from the court room. Malinga was initially arrested for burglary (business) which he committed during March this year, around Ermelo.
