Uganda: Obote Storms Nadiope's Home to Catch 'Coup Plotters'

One night in the middle of January 1966, prime minister Milton Obote showed up unannounced at Plot 22 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Upper Kololo, Kampala, which was the official residence of the vice president of Uganda, Sir William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Nadiope.

Sir William, as he was popularly known, was besides being the vice president of Uganda, the Kyabazinga of Busoga and vice president of the ruling Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) party.
