Nigeria: Iwobi Gets Tough Start With Arsenal As New Season Fixture Released

Alex Iwobi and his Arsenal teammates will have to hit the ground running when the Premier League kicks off on August 11 as they have been handed a tough start to the season.

In the tentative fixture released on Thursday, the Gunners will be hosting Manchester City in the opening weekend at the Emirates and that indeed should be a tasty clash as new Arsenal manager Unai Emery will be facing Pep Guardiola.

After facing the defending champions on the opening weekend, Iwobi and his teammates have another tough game to contend with in the second weekend as Arsenal will be playing Chelsea in the first London derby.

The third weekend is not any easy for Arsenal as they will be involved in another derby clash, this time at home against West Ham United.

It is equally a tough start for the Super Eagles stars at Leicester City as they will be starting the season away to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

For Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, who is the latest arrival in the Premier League, his Brighton team will be away to Watford in the opening weekend but would have their hands full in the second week when they host Manchester United.
