Tanzania: Police Feel JPM Heat As IGP Sirro Reshuffles Rpcs

A DAY after President John Magufuli talked tough, including expressing his dismay over failure by police to address the spate of tragic accidents in some regions, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Simon Sirro (pictured) has swiftly moved in to carry out a mini-reshuffle of Regional Police Commanders (RPCs).

According to a statement made available to the press by Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police ( ACP) Barnabas Mwakalukwa, yesterday, the measure is aimed at addressing the occurrence of fatal road accidents that have been endemic in some regions.
