South Africa: Police Watchdog Probes Cops Over Missing Fisherman, Attempted Murder Cases Opened

South Africa's police watchdog has opened two cases of attempted murder following the disappearance of a Hout Bay fisherman during an anti-poaching operation on Saturday, August 11.

Durick van Blerk, 26, was returning from catching crayfish near Cape Point, allegedly illegally, when police intercepted his boat, shooting out the engine. Two others who were with Van Blerk were arrested and later released on bail, GroundUp reports.
