The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Executive Board on Friday approved an immediate disbursement of about US$28.8 million to The Gambia to help meet the country's financing needs, support social spending and the post-pandemic recovery.
In a news release, the IMF indicated that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to represent a significant challenge to country's economy, adding that growth is expected to rebound to 6.0% in 2021.
