Algeria: Candidates Call Legislative Polls Opportunity to Break With Previous Practices, Urge Massive Turnout

ALGIERS-The candidates of political parties running in the 12th June legislative elections on Monday called the upcoming polls an opportunity to break with the past and previous practices, urging massive turnout to achieve this goal.

Referring to the "catastrophic" management of the country's affairs over the two last decades, Lakhdhar called the upcoming polls an adequate opportunity likely to give rise to a new political scene that meets the concerns of Algerians expressed during the peace demonstrations (Hirak) that broke out on 22 February 2019.
