Ghana: Nana Adutwumwaa, Newmont Support Kenyasi Police With Gh¢160,000 Items

Kenyasi — The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adutwumwaa Enterprise, Nana Yaa Adutwumwaa, in partnership with Newmont Ghana has donated assorted items to the Kenyasi District Police Service as part of its corporate social responsibilities.

Led by the General Manager of the enterprise, Mr Samuel Aboagye and other members of the group on behalf of Madam Adutwumwaa, donated the items valued at GH¢ 160,000 which included television sets, furniture and an amount of GH¢ 4,000 for car maintenance.

Speaking to the media, MrAboagye explained that the reason for supporting the police and the other security forces was to make policing attractive and motivate them to fight crimes in Ghana.

"We decided to present these items to the Kenyasi District Police Station because they reached us to come to their aid as part of our corporate responsibilities.

"From our records, we help all other securities forces in our community to assist us to fight crimes in our society.

We must support our security agencies to fight crimes and fix other internal affairs to make peace prevail in the country," he said.

According to him, the Kenyasi District Police Service reached out to the CEO who also doubles as the queen mother of Kenyasi No.1 to come to their aid as they lack certain essentials at the police station, which made policing in the district area look exhausting.

"They reached us to come to their aid. When we came to inspect initially, we saw they lacked so many things including television sets, furniture and vehicles problems.

We budgeted about GH¢160,000 to provide these items to help our policing system in Ghana," he added.

Receiving the items, the District Police Commander, Paul Ankah, commended Madam Yaa Adutumwaa for the kind gesture and expressed the hope that it would encourage the District Police to fight crimes in the area.

"We are grateful for these items from Madam Adutumwaa and Newmont Ghana.

"We were lacking certain items and we decided to reach out to them to come to our aid, they answered us and the items they delivered are useful to help us grow policing in our district."
