Kenya to Continue Partnering With UN Agencies in Attainment of SDGs

Nairobi — Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Wednesday hosted the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)'s goodwill Ambassador His Royal HIghness Haakon, Crown Prince of Norway and Her Royal Highness Victoria Princess of Sweden and their accompanying delegations.

During the courtesy call at the DP's Harambee House Annex offices, the delegations discussed issues focusing on drought mitigation and humanitarian efforts around the ongoing famine as well as sustainable solutions to agriculture and climate change.

Issues of entrepreneurship, innovation, and women empowerment and Kenya Kwanza's commitment to partnering with the two countries as well as various UN agencies in the country in moving the population towards the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"We will keep engaging these agencies to find sustainable solutions to climate change, food security, and agriculture," Deputy President Gachagua said.

Present at the meeting was Swedish Ambassador Caroline Vicini, Swedish minister for Development Aid and Foreign Trade Johan Forsell, Anne Tvinnereim, Norway's minister for International Development as well as the Principal Secretary nominee for Foreign Affairs Korir Sing'oei. - DPPs
