China’s growing presence in Africa represents an historic economic and social transition for the continent. This new phase of China’s relationship with Africa raises important questions for African policymakers and the continent’s development partners. Academics and researchers from four African think tanks have been conducting new research over the last 18 months, including extensive field studies. Their findings - which cover Sino-African engagement across trade, investment, aid and agriculture - contain a number of important recommendations for African policymakers.
