Two lions and four cubs have been killed by angry residents on the outskirt of Kenya's capital, Nairobi, after they invaded a homestead killing a dozen of livestock.
To add to this article on Nairobi's lions, I would like to invite the
writer and Prof. Nicholas Oguge to work with The Wildlife Foundation,
Friends of Nairobi Nat. Park, African Wildlife Foundation and others who
have been assisting the conservation of the Nairobi NP wildlife dispersal
area for more than a decade. In 2003 there were only 7 adult lions in the
Nairobi NP ecosystem, now there are over 30 thanks to the Wildlife
Conservation Lease Programme, the Predator Consolation Programme, and the
zoning of all the land immediately South of Nairobi NP as
"wildlife/livestock" usage with the key feature that as of 2012 no parcel
