H.E and Dear Mr President Ouattara,

We (African children)respectfully urge you to ignore the ICC warrant against Ms Simone Gbagbo in your capacity of father, husband, African and highest authority in Ivory Coast . Should the justice in Ivory Coast find her guilty of any crime, please consider judging her in your country, also allowing her to present her own means of defense. It is a good thing, on humanitarian grounds, to refuse to ship a lady, a mother and a sister to the Hague. Acting otherwise will, we are sure, dampen your reconciliation efforts in the country. Too many real and notorious white collar criminals are running the streets and we are yet to see the ICC point a finger to them.

    Thank you for your compassion.

If there is no guilt on the part of the Gbagbo family, then the truth will come out. However, if there is guilt, then justice must prevail.

The only way to a reduction in violations of war crimes and crimes against humanity is for there to be a strictly enforceable mechanism in place globally where leaders are held accountable for there actions.

Creating that mechanism for enforceable accountability should be something that the entire world enbraces. Then we will see a decrease in violence around the world.
