Liberian motor-cycles, otherwise known as 'pem-pem' have been barred from plying the streets of Monrovia and its environs after 10 pm. The ban went into effect on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. The Liberia National Police, in conjunction with the Liberia Motor-Cyclist Union took the decision recently in an effort to curtail various crimes, including armed robbery.
