Government of Ethiopia (Addis Ababa), 18 December 2012
Ethiopia is spending $US 1.3 billion, 10 per cent of its GDP, annually on infrastructural development. This is said to be easily the highest percentage in Africa, according to an article by writers from the South African Institute of international Affairs.
It is true that Ethiopia spends a big chunk of its GDP on infrastructure.
However 1.3 billion USD does not make 10 per cent of Ethiopia's GDP because
Ethiopia's GDP as at 2011 was 31 billion USD.
