President Goodluck Jonathan announced yesterday that most members of terror groups had been arrested by security forces in the country, just as he said that, with more prayers, the country would overcome the violent crimes confronting the country - terrorism, kidnapping and armed robbery.
President Goodluck Jonathan is a great and intelligent leader, his
simplicity and humility is a gift, and this 2013 by the grace of God, he
will deliver greater results that will move the country forward in
security, electricity, employment generation, agriculture and
infrastructure. May God help President Goodluck Jonathan to move really
fast this 2013 and do the things that will improve the living standards of
Nigerians and positively impact on the growth of the Nation. Nigeria will
win the war on terror. Good will prevail over evil. The blood of the
innocent people that were brutally murdered will not be in vain. Happy new
year!!
Claim of Arrested Terrorists - President Goodluck Jonathan Not Sincere
The statement made on new year day of 1st January 2013 by President
Goodluck Jonathan claiming and informing that his government had arrested
“Most terrorists in the country” must be consigned to the dust bin of
nuisance value as one of the ‘off the beat’ statements he was known
for.
It becomes highly offensive and suspicious for the president relegating his
office to that of either that of the National Security Adviser and or
Minister of Information insensitively announcing an highly sensitive
security matter during a Church service.
Unfortunately there was nothing there and then provided as proof by the
President to back up his highly sentimental claim which was capable further
inflaming religious tension among the faith.
One would
have expected the claim backed up with facts and figure at any rate.
As if to make mockery of the President, on Tuesday 2nd January just a day
after the reckless statement was made a soldier and 13 others were
reportedly killed in Maiduguri Borno State in a gun battle involving the
military and the Boko haram sect.
Knowing and accepting the fact therefore that it will be almost impossible
“to arrest most terrorists in Nigeria” unless those claimed to have
been arrested are those the president had before claimed “having
infiltrated his cabinet and the presidency” time will soon tell on
President Goodluck Jonathan swallowing his words once again and with a
warning that it pays a good leader to carefully weigh his words on very
sensitive national matters rather than being frivolous with words throw
about.
