• Liberia: President Sirleaf Begins Taking Action on PUP Abuse

    Upon initial review of the report submitted by the Special Independent Investigating Body commissioned to review the policies and procedures regarding the issuance of Private Use Permits (PUPs), President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has begun acting on its findings and recommendations.

    I feel very happy when I see Madam Sirleaf talking like this and ready to take action. If you continue to take necessary action without delay, you will make everyday Christmas for me. Personally, I don't really care who is the president of Liberia. I care about who can manage the resources for the people, country and the future generations. I would also appreciate if you more punitive action against corrupt officials than just sacking or dismissing. If possible imprison them with hard labour to grow food or do some effective actives to pay for any stolen money.

    PUP is dead but logging has fainted. Lots of Liberians will be out of job 2013.

    The action taken by Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is welcoming and more prompt punitive actions need to be taken for the benefit of all Liberians.
