"Three things emerge from the haze. First, fierce fighting in the North and the East, with French forces in the lead, will open up a whole new set of dangers. With Islamist forces on the attack, foreign intervention was necessary, and many Malians at home and abroad welcomed it enthusiastically. Still, this remains a dangerous moment all around.
Born and grew up in West Africa and very proud to live and study in the
region till in the late 80s when the war began in Liberia. The West African
coast is green and has verse potentials. These landlocked West Africa
nations must be thouroughly reexamine as they also gave passage to Chalse
Tailor and Foday Sankoh to come and distabilise our region and tamper with
our prides and dignities as human beings. I can remeber lot of Bokinabes
were involved in the fighting in both Liberia and Sierra Leone and their
sponsors are already known by West Africans.
For France or whosoever to succeed in our region they have to empower our
regional security forces and help to build a system that can serve as
ingredients to peace and stability. This is not only good for the region
but for the world at large.
