The main thing the AU should discuss is on the need that Africa should have control on its information dissemination. Africa should have its own media!!!! The AU should seriously think about it.Africa should have its own media, one as big as the BBC or CNN. I do not know why the AU lets the continent be destabilized by the likes of Aljazeera - which is a pro-Arab Qatari-owned media. Why would Africa, a huge continent of almost 1 billion people, let its destiny be shaped by a small island of 2 million people outside its continent? Why? Africa should have its own media with no hidden agenda to destabilize it and kick aljazeera out of the continent. The sooner the AU does that, the better - before AJZ gets the continent burn by catalyzing inter-ethnic and inter-religious conflicts in the name of free speech and free media!

Tonisetnim The hypocrisy of AJ is that they have made a deal with the kingdom not to talk about Qatar's human rights abuse on it's own people(The Shia) and using it's oil money to spread Wahhabist agenda wherever it sets foot. Al-jazeera tells others how they are not democratic, when it self is a parasite in the world's most oppressive and dangerous regimes. Africa must have an alternative to those Government owned BBC, RT or France24. Africa needs relatively an independent and an African media.
