Thousands of Liberian refugees will leave the Ghanaian camp they have lived in for years to an uncertain future back in their country. UNHCR is closing the camp on the grounds that Liberia is now a stable democracy. But is that so?

I believe it is a mistake to forced people who fled from civil unrest and wars and lived in exile for more than 5 or 10 years anywhere to go back not on their own accord. Ghana is part of Africa and if those that are still there feel comfortable living there, let them live. I believe wherever you live and life is ok for you, that's your home.Although there is no place like where your liver string is buried, most times, life is more important than birthplace.Let them live!UNHCR should be shame of itself.

Realistically, Ghana is like a home to most Liberian. Not evrywhere you were born is where yoi belong. If people living in Budumbuam Refugee Camp in Ghana feel Ghana is their home, let them live. For me, whereever life is preferable for the living of an indiidual, that place is your home no matter which part of the world you are. For instance, I live in Minnesota, U.S.A but I feel confortable living in New York, so I prefer NY to Minnesota as a home. Please let the Liberian be and let them take care of their lives as long as they are not creating trouble for the Ghanaian government. Africa is every black man home, so we as black people should be allow to live any part of Africa without harassment.

It is true, they are coming home as they ran from the previous 14 yrs civil unrest. What a humiliation and dehumanization. I am a liberian who once fled from the war, spend 21-2 yrs now. I understand now how it is to feel homeless and worse of all to live in intimidation and severe challenges without your complains been advocated. We've struggle to even get to eat, talkless about getting complete education.

Then People who dont have human feelings and senses of understanding come up with mockery calling these pathetic brethren "wasted years". Only God knows what they went through and why they stay that long. Liberians have been use as machandise to invest and upgrade the Ghanaian's economy while we stave for basic human needs. Now some are coming and others dont want to. Can you put yourself in their pains? What would you do after many years in a country as a refugee and been denied from your absolute right? The Gov't and people of liberia must be willing to put hands around our brothers and sisters who are returning, show them love and not mockery, if you will, help them to rise.
