The Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah, has said that the inability of German airline, Lufthansa, to honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between it and the Federal Ministry of Aviation led to the termination of the MoU.
Reasons emerged, weekend, why the Federal Government cancelled its agreement with the German airline, Lufthansa, under which the airline enjoyed free royalty payments for flights into the country.
Despite the Senate resolution that the German carrier, Lufthansa, must pay a $14 million (N2.2 billion) debt on unpaid royalties to the Federal Government, the airline may not pay the money it owes, investigations by THISDAY have revealed.
Why Lufthansa ? This is the only foreign airline that has been very
generous with fare discount to Nigerians in Europe. Discounts are very
common within Europe and between Europe and America and Asia but not
Africa. But in the past years Lufthansa has extended it at least to
Nigerians. Why punish them and not BA, Air France and others that fully
exploit Africans? This is a big Shame
German airline Lufthansa yesterday said its flights have not been disrupted in Nigeria, contrary to a report that said termination of its agreement with the Federal Government forced it to stop operations

Believe it or not, Nigerian authorities are purnishing Lofhtansa because
the airline refused to bribe them. Now they are trying to replace
Lofthansa with Pakistan Airways without considerig the risks to national
security. They want to make it easier for Boko Haram to acquire arms from
Pakistianian Jihads. That's their plan.
The Senate Committee on Aviation has ordered that British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways pay a fine of U.S.$135 million and U.S.$100 million respectively for amongst others, conspiring to fix ticket prices, at the expense of the country.
