The Regional Initiative in Science and Education aims to train a new generation of academics and professionals across the continent through a series of international educational networks.
When John Mwero looks at charred sugar cane ash he sees sturdy bridges, soaring skyscrapers and stable roads. He's convinced that bagasse ash - the residue that's left after processors suck out the sugar and burn the cane, has the potential to make cement stronger and cheaper.
IT IS STILL MY THOUGHTS THAT THERE A MANY IN THE DIASPORA THOSE WHO ARE IN
THE CARRIBEAN LATIN AMERICA WHO WOULD LOVE TO BE A PART OF THIS GREAT
DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRES IN AFRICA. THESE PEOPLE ARE WELL TRAINED AND HAVE THE
NECESARRY KNOWLEDGE TO ADD VALUE TO THESE PROGRAMS. PAN-AFRICANIST MANY
HAVE PASSED BUT THERE IS A GREAT QUANTITY STILL AVAIALABLE TO AFRICA.THERE
CAN NOT BE ENOUGH PRAISE FOR THIS PROGRAM. WE NEED TO SEE A PERCENTAGE OF
THE OIL MONEY DONATED TO FUND SCINECE IN AFRICA SO WE HAVE OUR SCIENTIST
WHOM ARE AT THE HELM OF OUR OIL PRODUCTIONS AN THE FACILITES BEING RUN
MANAGED BY OUR AFRICAN ENGINEERS. AS RISE' LOOKS AT THE PROBLEMS OF SENDING
OUR STUDENTS ABROAD WHO GETS LURED BY WESTERN COUNTRIES TO DONATE THIER
TIMES THIER KNOWLEDGE TO THIER CONTINUED DOMINATION. WHEN IF WE HAVE
TRAINED INDEGENOUSS AND PAN-AFRICANIST WILLING TO DEVOTE'; THIS IS A BIG
WORD DEVOTE', THIER LOVE FOR AFRICA AND SEE IT FOR EVER GROWING,
PROSPERING , EMPOWERING , DEVELOPING SKILLS THAT WILL NEVER DIE SUSTAINABLE
BENEIFICIAL FOR IMPROVING ERADICATING POVERTY FOREVER. "THERE IS NO REWARD
WITHOUT OWNERSHIP". DECISIONS ARE NOT GIVEN TO PART OWNER, WHEN AFRICA
OWES ITS LANDS ITS RESURCES THEN WE ARE A FORCE ON THE WORLD STAGE". 'WE
NEED NOT JOIN AND SIGN OURSELVES AWAY TO THOSE WHO ARE EXPLOITIVE,
EXTORNERS, AND ONLY THERE FOR THIER INVESTORS AND SELF INETEREST??." WE
NEED TO HAVE OUR PEOPLE AS OUR STAKE HOLDERS WHERE THEY BENIFIT FROM THE
PRODUCE AND THE SKILLS THAT GIVES THEM LEVERAGE IN PRICES AND HOW IT IS
BEING USED. WE CAN EMPOWER HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF AFRICANS WHOM ARE MORE
THAN WILLING TO BECOME EDUCATED . AFRICA HAS BEEN NEGLECTED FOR SO LONG
THAT THE SEAMS ARE BURSTING WITH POTENTIAL;" THERE ARE POETNTIAL STUDENTS
CLAMOURING FOR EDUCATION FROM KIDGERGARTEN TO PHD LEVELS' THIS IS ALOT TO
SAY ABOUT AFRICA!!!!!. THIS SETS UP THE NEED FOR SPECIALITS EDUCATION SKILL
CENTERED VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ELECTRICIANS PLUMBBERS WELDERS CARPENTERS
IRONWORKERS BUILDERS DIGGERS, WE NEED TO ESTABLISH A STRONG METALS INDUSTRY
TO MAKE AND MANUFACTURE TOOLS FOR ALL LEVELS WITH ENGINES TO GO WITH IT.
THERE IS NO WAY THAT AFRICA CAN NOT TOP THE TABLES IN BEING SLEF RELIANT
??? HENCE THE NEED FOR GREATER SCHEMES FOR EDUCATION SKILL BASED. SHOULD
THESE GREEDY POLTICIANS TRULY LOOK AT THE POTENTIAL IN AFRICA ???THERE ARE
SO MANY BUSINESES THEY CAN DESIGN , HEAD, BECOME PART OF; WITH MORE WIZENES
MORE INSIGHT MORE VISION INSTEAD OF CORRUPTING THE IDEALS OF THE YOUNG AND
SENDING THE MONIES ABROAD THAT SHOULD STAY IN THE ECONOMY STRENGTHENING THE
NATIONAL CURRENCIES AND NOT ALLOW FOR WESTERN BANKS TO PILFER THE STOLEN
MONIES FOR THEMSELVES. AFRICANS NEED TO KEEP MORE MONEY ON THE CONTINENT SO
THAT WE CAN BUILD THESE STRONG EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO EMPOWER THE
CONTINENT AND TAKE IT TO THE NEXT THREE FOUR LEVELS.
John is on the right track but he can't do it alone and he needs support.
In my previous article i wrote about the importance of Institutions. They
should be our bosses that can encourage innovations, discoveries and
developments. Africa should shift from the existing status-quo and stretch
further. That is individuals must have the head and gut to look for
solutions to the basic physiological needs. Questions about Energy
sustainability, affordable housing,sustainable food production,
infrastructural development etc can be answered. YES WE CAN if we use our
heads and guts.
Rome was not build in a day. The Developed world are now eating the fruits
whose trees were planted by their politicians, phylosophers, and scientists.
We can't rush towards rapid growth as the consequence is to descend into
chaos. Aristotle and othe Greek Phylosophers discovered that life is
unliveable without one or more reaction between the four fundamental
elements( earth, fire, air, and water) of life. Let us bring science down
to common sence and eliminate the barriers. Most of the latin names in
science were intentionally created to confuse the lay man. We have to make
everything that we see around us usable for our existence. More emphasies
should be laid on Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics for these
four subjects forms the root of economics. We need to shift from the type
of economy that is based only on consumption and not production.
John Mwero can do it and the Institution and the authority must support him
and his team.
An initiative to train science lecturers and boost collaboration among researchers at African universities is likely to be renewed and expanded next year.
