Climate is more about water than greenhouse gases. We can largely stop and reverse the climate degradation by cleaning the rivers and lakes of weeds and silt. This is an enormous task, which will require millions of people's labor. The payouts are also enormous. The desert can be stopped, even pushed back. Flooding will be reduced. Malaria can be pushed into history books, as can famine. We can produce arable land. Quelea can be a minor nuisance. With the cooling system restored, "lake effect" rains will cool and moisten the land. To fight the greenhouse gas part of the problem, simply stop selling oil to the world. Put "peak oil" into the past. Remember to dredge the silt. That will restore the connection between surface and ground water (watch the oases reappear). The weeds are all biomass, waiting to be biofuel. The silt is soil waiting to fight erosion. Climate degradation can be reversed. You can do this. Show me!
