Nigeria Invests Fresh Capital Into Three Banks After Takeover

Nigeria has taken over three troubled banks and will rebrand them and pump in new capital. The central bank withdrew their operating licences after a 2009 bid to rescue them.

A cartoonist in Nigeria's Vanguard newspaper had little sympathy for bank debtors when the country's central bank intervened in 2009. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is telling them: "You keep shouting Human Rights? Human Rights!! What do you think the depositors should be shouting?"
