Thousands of Kenyan Post-Election Violence Cases Stalled

The Kenyan government has successfully prosecuted only about 500 of 6,081 reported cases arising out of violence following elections five years ago. But a decision by the International Criminal Court in The Hague on whether to prosecute alleged instigators of the violence is expected soon.

The post-election violence resulted in more than 1,000 deaths and the displacement of at least half a million Kenyans.
