What a terrible piece of pseudo-reporting. This is nothing but a PR statement on behalf of the gas extractors, posing under the headline of "economic development". While it is good that some local staff seem to be developing further skills, that hardly amounts to "economic development. Meanwhile, the weight of historical evidence suggests that large-scale natural gas extraction will be a "CURSE" for Tanzania, unless a great deal of smart and courageous planning is done (and implemented) to avoid a repeat of Angola or Nigeria. This "article" did not even begin to acknowledge these sorts of challenges and what they mean for the country.
