My heart and prayers go to the people of Nigeria, and especially to those families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones in this devastating tragedy. Having been to Nigeria a few times, I know Nigerians to be a resilient group of people and they will overcome this tragedy too.

Plane crashes can occur anytime, anywhere. That is why finding the cause of this crash and eradicating such potential problems is critical to avoiding such tragedies in the future. President Jonathan's first steps are in the right direction but must be followed by more strict controls and regulations for aircraft safety.

Best wishes to the Nigerian People and may the Good Lord Bless You.

    Sam.

Clearly this disaster could have been avoided if the aviation authority was on top of their game. This is really a sad incident for our great country. May the good Lord shower his mercy on all the bereaved. A few suggestions for the Authority: 1. The aviation authority must make sure that all owners of businesses must have Nigerian partners who will have the interest of Nigerian. 2. The authority must have the air lines create an insurance policy that will compensate passenger's dependent families' lost, God forbid if such should happen again. 3. The Aviation Authority must limit the age and flight hours of operating planes brought to operate in Nigeria. 4. Aviation Inspection reports cannot be over-written by flight managers at will because of profit. There are many other suggestions that can and must be implemented to avoid such a disaster in the future. It is time for Nigerian to come together and form think-thank groups to help our Nation. The only way Nigeria can be improved is to get involve through public forum groups that will call those in Authority into accountability for a better future.
