UN Lifts Travel Ban on Taylor Ex-Wives, 15 Others
The United Nations has lifted a travel ban on former associates of war crimes convict and former president Charles Taylor - including two of his ex-wives. President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf had urged that the ban be lifted, saying "it is not healthy for people who pose no threat to peace to be banned from traveling".

Very informative but I think it would be more informative if we knew the main reason as to why the sanction was placed in the first place. Someone please enlighten me.

The removal of these people from the travel ban and asset freeze, through the urging of Mrs Sirleaf, cries out for justice for the Liberian people. One of these people was, in the recent past, boasting that he is one of those who bore the most for the crimes committed against the Liberian people. Now, how does this action by the U. N. square with such an admission? African leaders: WHAT A JOKE!
