I am very ashamed at the level of stupidity that seem to prevail among Nigerians . Why do we often make refrence to power shortage when we 're all aware of the reason ? From IBB regime to JOnathan , how many power generators have been looted away from communities they 're purchased installed to provide electricity ? How many times have the residents of constituencies had to go knock at the door of local electricity or district manager with bundle of maoney collected from residents to give to the honourable district manager to unlock some mechanism so there can be some moment of electricity supply . Same goes for water supply ? Common ladies and gentlemen if you havent lived it , I have even prior to coming overseas to study. Could you believe that these water and electricity officials maintain such command among various calibre of citizens you'll think they have been mesmerized by some voodoo into submission . Now let me move beyond community behavior that compound the inability to maintain even the modest supply of amenities to citizens . Think about alluminium railings on our highways , How many of those are still doing the road safety jobs they have been installed to do today ? Who is in charge of the safety of these operations ? To a large extent we're collectively responsible to the inept and disfunctional nation we have . Take mental inventory of how much this breach is costing the nation in hard currency. Also factor in the number of contractors that have often bolted away with peoples money either in conjunction with officials awarding them such contracts or direct looth . What a tragic waste to a nation with high power human and mterial managers .What has happened during the past two years under Jonathan 's rule is contiunuation of the way it have been in the past . But for the fuel subsidy crises and Boko Harem eruption, it would have been business as usual and this is completely exhibited by the Presidents apathy to national break down of law and order. All of these beg the question on Jonathans unwillingnes to bring in appropriate sanction to save the nation from these ruthless crime . That question will remain in the mind of those of us who want to see this nation archieve it's developement goals to deliver the meaning and benefits of democracy to citizens
