Yao Ming's criticism of poaching elephants is certainly welcome and necessary. However, he needs to use his voice, fame and credibility to speak out in China (where demand is huge) against the demand for ivory. It is only when the worldwide demand and the market for ivory are eliminated that poaching will stop.
