Hab Nigeria! When will you grow up? How in this modern world will you send illiterate soldiers to higher institution quell students protest. The students did not break the law. They were just exercising their FREEDOM of SPEECH. Whosoever sent those soldiers there or who requested for the soldiers in that order should be summoned to appear before the House of Representative committee on national security to explain their action.
Where was the Nigeria Police?.Were these students armed? If armed were their fire power superior to that of the police? Tell us.They should be responsible for their action period.
The soldiers have more serious job to do than going to shoot defenseless students,Ali MUST GO episode is still fresh in our minds. They should go after the Bokko Haram and Niger delta militants that are menace and tarnishing the image of Nigeria.Even the kidnapping in south east and Lagos is the job of the SPECIAL Police to handle. If not in place yet, a special police squad should be set up,trained and WELL equipped for that job.
The national assembly should tackle this issue of student- army relationship with optimum serious it deserves to prevent spillover to other institutions or further re-occurrence.
Once more those who pull the trigger should also be fished out and punished accordingly. The entry level into the armed forces and the police should be overhauled and upgraded to HND and First Degree holders.
Let us help NIGERIA to grow. While praying for the victims, their families should be compensated though no amount of compensation will equal the lost lives.May their souls rest in peace, Amen
