How to Make Democracy Work - Mogae

Festus Mogae, who was awarded the U.S.$5 million Mo Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership after serving two terms as president of Botswana, visited Nigeria in January to chair the 10th annual dialogue sponsored by the Daily Trust newspaper. In an AllAfrica interview, he talked about the components for good governance.

    Nobody else can say more of Nigerians and Nigeria than Mr. Festus Mogae, the former President of Botswana. We all know what is wrong with our system, but nobody is ready to take the bull by the horns. Nigerians wake up.

    the Botswana example is good for Nigeria and many others countries,unfortunately rampantcorruption together with ostracism to proper accounts prevent democracy to work,unfortunatelythe recipe is only one :to get rid of dishonest politicians .Easy to say,fifficult to implement
