Despite President Morsi's veiled threats directed at Ethiopia over its Nile River plans, Egypt can ill afford the financial and strained relations that a conflict will bring, writes Seifulaziz Milas.

This is the problem of many Africa Countries. Your brother and sisterly country is working hard to develop not only their country but the whole area or part of that Africa; and here you coming with all types of aggressive obstruction just to satisfy the enemies. Is it wise to satisfy the enemies while your environment is prone to dangers, under-development and destruction?? Is it?? It's time for Africa to pass above the colonial mentalities and join hands for the better of all Africans instead of being hyprocritical and destroying each others in Africa by the hands of the evil and enemies. What such good will these enemies and evil outside doers will ever do for you besides hiding behind their comfortable dinner rooms and laughing at you by saying: we got them. with that said, please remember that when one is yarning for development there are certain entities which are part of that development - ELECTRICITIES is one of them.

A wonderful analysis, particularly on the long time interest of Egypt. However,I expect more as to what will the future takes on.I think Egyptian Politicians and Scholars should consider the benefit of cooperation over antagonism. Yohannes Alemayehu - Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Empire Is an Existential Threat to Egypt’s Water Security. “The reason we chose to build the largest dam in Africa is to show to the Egyptians that if we are successful with this grand dam, nothing will stop us from building many other smaller dams over the Nile”. The dead Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Meles, in a speech to the Ethiopian parliament. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ILWYNjR4-TQ#! This quote from the deceased Ethiopian dictator’s speech is a clear indication of Ethiopia’s sinister long term plan to build more dams on the Blue Nile. He scornfully referred to Egypt’s incessant opposition to any dam and said that Ethiopia cognizant of this fact, rather decided to challenge Egypt’s stance by inaugurating the largest dam in Africa. Ethiopia has a hydroelectric power capacity of 45,000 MW and that means it could have used its other several rivers instead of focussing on the Nile that they knew pretty well will reduce the quantity and quality of water reaching Egypt. I share Egypt’s concern and anger. This dam should be stopped before it is too late. My message to Africans is this: Do you know that Ethiopia is the only racist African country whose Amhara and Tigre ruling class consider themselves as non-Africans and not black; they falsely claim that they descended from the line of Juda. To make their point they do still disparagingly refer to other Africans as “Barioch” which in Amharic parlance means slaves. It is very common for these people to refer to any black Africans they meet as ‘Bariaw”-means look here is a slave. They unashamedly feel proud of having “fair complexion” relative to pitch black Africans. So, my point is: Africans must understand Ethiopia as a racist entity that treats the rest of Africa still as slaves and “animals”. It is all too common for the Ethiopians of darker skins to face daily harassment and denigration form the Amharas and Tigres. I contend that having the African Union in Ethiopia is a mockery and insult to the spirit of Pan-Africanism. The late Colonel Gaddafi (who shunned the Arab League and embraced and bank rolled the AU) was the only guy who understood the ugly Ethiopian mentality and thus campaigned to relocate the AU from Addis Ababa to Sirte in Libya.
