Kenyan Lawmakers Vote to Pull Out of Hague Court

Days before Deputy President William Ruto begins his trial for crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court, members of Parliament of the ruling alliance have voted to pull out of the International Criminal Court. The case against Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta and others was handed to the court when Kenya failed to institute charges against them after post-election killings five years ago.

Key witnesses to the 2007 post-election violence reportedly gave details of how politicians and business people planned and mobilised youths to execute the deadly attacks in Eldoret and Naivasha.
