With Major Funding Boost, Hopes Rise for Food Security

CGIAR - the world's largest agricultural research partnership - announced on Tuesday that it doubled its funding from U.S.$500 million in 2008 to $1 billion in 2013. The funding supports the generation of cutting-edge tools and technologies for the benefit of small-scale farmers and other poor people across Africa, where CGIAR spends over half of its resources.
