IMF Chief Visits Mali

Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), arrived in Bamako today for a three-day visit to Mali. Lagarde is coming from Kenya, where she urged the country to adopt policies of devolution and fiscal decentralization, to tackle its large infrastructure gaps and to continue to lead the way in integrating the East African region economically.
