Debating Botswana's Democracy

Discussing the future of Botswana's democracy, an American-based scholar says a recent analysis by a colleague "makes a good case for the increasing authoritarian and violent context of Botswana politics" but suggests the analysis "goes too far." In recent elections, President Ian Khama and the Botswana Democratic Party was returned to power, but a new opposition party made a strong showing.
