Nigeria's National Health Law Expands Access

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan signed into law a National Health Bill that greatly expands access to health care for Nigeria's 190 or so million people. Health professionals are hopeful that a stronger health delivery system will improve outcomes overall, reduce child and maternal mortality and provide a barrier in both cities and rural areas against future epidemics, including cholera and Ebola. Reporting on African cities and their efforts to build resilience is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation.
