Solving Housing Shortages and Pollution with Plastic Bottle Homes

Plastic waste clogging drains and waterways is now common in many African cities. Flooding and the pooling of stagnant water reduces water quality and provides a breeding ground for malaria carrying mosquitoes. Using plastic bottles to build homes can remove environmental waste and have the potential to alleviate the housing shortage.

To build a two bedroom, 1200 square foot home, it takes about 14,000 bottles.
