U.S. Lawmakers Seek to Preserve Somali Remittances
"Thousands of Somali-Americans" depend on sending money "to protect and care for their families," Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), said in a Facebook post. He joined other members of the House and Senate in calling for a meeting with top administration officials to formulate a plan that would allow continuation of transfers that have been blocked by U.S. banks under pressure from Federal regulations.
