South Africa: New Presidential Jets Could Cost R2 Billion

Opposition parties the Democratic Alliance and the Economic Freedom Fighters have spoken out against plans by government to acquire three new jets for President Jacob Zuma and his cabinet. This comes after Minister of Finance Nhlanhla Nene's 2015 budget statement included revised spending plans to cut costs on "non-critical activities" like travel.

Government allegedly seeks to acquire a Boeing Business Jet and two Falcon 900 Business Jets, pictured (file photo).
