Nigeria to Probe State Election Violence

Tensions ran high in some states as voters went back to the polls on Saturday to choose state leaders. Vanguard reported that violence rocked at least seven states across the country, leading to 16 deaths. The Independent National Electoral Commission is probling the violence. It was happy with the overall conduct of the election, but said the areas most affected by violence were Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi and Ondo States.
